Baby Proofing your Home

When you bring your new baby home, you may not have considered all the things you might have to baby proof before your little bundle of joy begins to explore. There are many baby proofing systems and companies that you can use if you want to have your home professionally baby-proofed, but if that is not in your budget there are plenty of things you can do yourself that don’t take very much money.

As your new baby begins to crawl, one way to keep them safe is to limit their access to the house. Keep doors closed, and once they are tall enough to reach doorknobs, make sure there is a door knob cover. Check periodically to make sure it is still on correctly every so often. If your baby closes a door you need to keep open, such as a nursery door, simply keep a folded towel or blanket over the top to keep baby from locking himself in – or locking you out!

Many other door locking mechanisms are available for baby proofing, from cabinets to stairways. You will need to find the system that works best for you and your house – and always consider the age of any other children in the home.Baby proofing will help keep baby safe and your feeling secure as a parent.

Baby proofing products make great Baby Shower gifts, especially for first time moms. Just check with the hostess or mom to be to find out what they need.

Perhaps a course in baby first aid is another unusual but very useful gift to consider.

My children and grandchildren are all so important to me and we need to love them and lead them along a safe and happy pathway as they grow older each day.  A wonderful start for all our babies is to give them a baby shower, so join with me and have a look at baby shower mom.
